Co-op has introduced a significant update for its numerous online shopping members. Previously, Co-op members could only benefit from their personalized weekly offers in-store. However, now these offers can also be utilized for online shopping, potentially saving customers more than £80 annually on items they regularly purchase.
Additionally, members can now redeem any funds added to their membership card online for game prizes or bonus offers. It’s important to note that personalized offers can only be used on the shop.coop website and not on third-party delivery apps like Deliveroo or Just Eat.
Last year, Co-op enhanced its personalized offers by 67%, bringing the total number of offers to over 700, including popular brands such as Huel, Pop Chips, Actimel, Pilgrams Choice, and Vimto. Furthermore, Co-op has extended its member price savings to platforms like Just Eat, Uber Eats, Deliveroo, and its own online store.
Rachel Halter, Customer Director at Co-op, highlighted the importance of offering online perks to members, with a significant portion of online shoppers being Co-op members. This move aligns with Co-op’s goal of providing value to its members and increasing its membership base to eight million by 2030.
In other news, Co-op, with approximately seven million members, has recently opened 18 new or upgraded stores, with plans for more openings in the pipeline. Moreover, the company has committed £70 million to create 7,000 new apprenticeships by 2030 through its Levy Share service, which allows the transfer of unused apprenticeship levy funds to various organizations.
Since its inception four years ago, the Levy Share service has facilitated over 3,800 apprenticeships, with a focus on supporting communities in need and the care sector.
