“Brits Record 12.5 Minutes of Concert Footage, Rarely Revisit”

Attending an incredible live music performance can create lasting memories, but the videos we take to preserve those moments often go unwatched. Research by Samsung Electronics reveals that on average, Brits record about 12.5 minutes of footage at each concert they attend, yet less than a third actually revisit these recordings. Common reasons for neglecting the footage include discomfort over hearing their own voice singing along (36%), poor video quality (24%), and dissatisfaction with the lighting conditions (26).

Despite these drawbacks, a significant 77% of concert-goers admit to still recording videos at every live music event they attend. The primary motivations behind this behavior are the desire to relive the experience later on (46%) and to share it with friends and family who couldn’t be there in person (24).

The study was conducted in conjunction with the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, which boasts an advanced camera system featuring 10x optical zoom and improved low-light performance. Annika Bizon, VP of product and marketing for mobile experience at Samsung UK & Ireland, emphasized the challenges of capturing live music moments but highlighted how the innovative features of the Galaxy S26 Ultra, such as enhanced Nightography and audio enhancements, aim to help users preserve concert memories more authentically.

Among the top frustrations when filming concerts is accidentally blocking the phone’s microphone and capturing muffled sounds, a peeve experienced by 11% of respondents.
