A British tourist tragically drowned in Colombia while reportedly visiting the country for his wedding. The 30-year-old encountered difficulties in the sea near Cartagena, a popular port city in the Caribbean.
The incident occurred around 7am in El Laguito, a well-known tourist area. Reports suggest that the tourist had traveled to Colombia specifically to tie the knot with his partner, who was present during the unfortunate event.
Despite efforts by emergency responders, the tourist was pronounced dead at the scene, with rough sea conditions being reported at the time. An investigation is underway, with authorities treating the death as accidental. The body has been transferred to a forensic medicine institute for a post-mortem examination.
Heartbreaking footage showed the man’s partner grieving by his side on the shoreline. This incident follows a recent drowning of a 39-year-old British tourist in Bali and the deaths of two Brits in Australia due to powerful ocean waves at Shellharbour Beach. The elderly couple in Australia did not survive despite receiving CPR from off-duty nurses and a multi-agency emergency response.
