“British Tourist Dies in Tenerife Paragliding Tragedy”

A tragic incident occurred in a popular holiday destination for British tourists as a young woman lost her life in a paragliding mishap.

Cristina Colturi, a 28-year-old Italian national residing in Tenerife, was involved in a fatal paragliding accident while on a tandem flight near La Enramada beach in Costa Adeje. Despite emergency crews rushing to the scene and attempting to save her, Cristina went into cardiac arrest. Medical professionals managed to revive her temporarily on the beach before transferring her to a hospital, but unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries two days later.

Following the accident, Cristina’s family consented to organ donation, and in accordance with her wishes, arrangements were made for her burial in Tenerife. Originally from Castelnuovo Bozzente near Milan, Cristina worked as a color analyst at a hotel on the island after moving there a year ago.

Expressing a desire to experience paragliding again after a previous flight in Italy, Cristina’s partner gifted her the excursion for Christmas. The paragliding instructor involved in the incident sustained non-life-threatening injuries and is currently under medical care at South Tenerife Hospital. Authorities are conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
