British Tourist Dies in Bali Rip Current Tragedy

A British tourist passed away during a vacation in Bali after being caught in a strong rip current. The 39-year-old individual was reportedly swept away by a wave and rip current while swimming at Nyang-Nyang Beach on the island.

The lifeless body of the tourist was discovered by shocked beach visitors near the shore in Pecatu village at approximately 7:45 am local time on Sunday. Two tourists were seen entering the water to retrieve the body, and paramedics were summoned to the scene. Unfortunately, the man was pronounced dead before being transported to a local hospital for examination.

Nyoman Sidakarya, the Head of the Denpasar Search and Rescue Office, stated that the community officers in Pecatu requested assistance for evacuating the body found at sea. The evacuation operation involved various agencies, including the Denpasar Search and Rescue Office, Water Police, South Kuta Police, Balawista South Kuta lifeguards, and local community members.

After being carried to an ambulance on the beach, the British tourist was taken to Prof. Ngoerah General Hospital in Denpasar for verification and examination. Authorities mentioned that the cause of death was still being investigated, and efforts were made to reach the Foreign Office for a comment.
