Boxing Icon Ricky Hatton’s Legacy Lives On

Boxing icon Ricky Hatton was described by his family as being in a great place before his unexpected passing. The legendary fighter was found at his £1.7 million residence in Hyde, Greater Manchester, on September 14 last year, where the inquest into his death is currently ongoing.

Testifying at the inquest, Hatton’s son Campbell portrayed his father as happy and laid-back, except when it came to sports. Campbell mentioned his father’s fearless and generous nature but acknowledged his struggles with mental health, despite feeling that his father was in a better place than he had been in years.

Known as The Hitman, Hatton’s romantic life also drew attention, particularly his relationship with Claire Sweeney, which blossomed during their time on ITV’s Dancing On Ice. However, their romance ended in December 2024, though they remained on good terms.

Throughout his life, Hatton had been involved with various women, including Claire, Angela Blemmings, and Jennifer Dooley, with whom he shared daughters Millie and Fearne. The relationship with Jennifer had its ups and downs, from their engagement in 2009 to a brief split in 2013, but they eventually reconciled.

Despite the personal challenges he faced, Hatton was remembered fondly by his loved ones, with Jennifer expressing the family’s heartbreak over his passing and the significant void it has left in their lives.
