Body of Missing Woman Found in River Aire at Leeds

Police have sadly discovered a body during their search for a missing woman in the Apperley Bridge area of Bradford. The woman, identified as Jane, aged 52, went missing from her residence. Yesterday, underwater search teams located the woman’s body in the River Aire at Kirkstall, Leeds, as confirmed by West Yorkshire Police.

Although formal identification is pending, Jane’s family has been notified of the discovery, according to a spokesperson for the police force. Detective Inspector Andy Queen from Bradford CID mentioned that extensive efforts had been made over recent weeks to locate Jane, and unfortunately, a body believed to be hers has been found.

Specialist officers are providing ongoing support to the family during this challenging period. The public’s assistance in sharing the appeal for information on Jane’s whereabouts has been appreciated.

During the search operation, some of Jane’s belongings were found on the riverbank on the south side of the River Aire, close to Apperley Road in the Apperley Bridge area. The police had initiated an extensive search for the missing woman prior to the discovery of the body.
