A former participant of the reality TV show Big Brother has been taken into custody on suspicion of stealing from a U.S. tourist. Luciana MartÃnez was photographed with a smile in her apartment alongside a police officer during the unusual arrest. The alleged incident occurred at a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on March 13th.
The 40-year-old American visitor reportedly encountered MartÃnez and her manager, Cristian Wagner, at a nightclub. Following a night of revelry together, they accompanied him to his hotel room to continue drinking, where he eventually fell asleep around 6:56 AM the next day.
Upon awakening after midday with fragmented memories of the prior evening, the tourist found himself alone and realized that various valuables were missing, including his passport, digital watch, backpack, and even his undergarments.
He promptly reported the incident to the authorities, leading to the subsequent arrest of MartÃnez, who is a transgender woman, and Wagner. During a search at Wagner’s residence, law enforcement officers discovered a bag containing the tourist’s passport, glasses, watch, clothing, and other belongings. The tourist claimed that MartÃnez and Wagner had deliberately intoxicated him to facilitate the theft, as detailed by Creatorzine.
Security camera footage purportedly depicts Wagner exiting the hotel at approximately 7 AM, while MartÃnez remained in the guest’s room until around 10:30 AM. The duo had provided their names at the hotel, aiding the police in their identification. Additionally, a staff member recognized MartÃnez from television. MartÃnez had participated in the 2024 season of Gran Hermano, the Argentine edition of Big Brother.
She gained attention for candidly sharing her journey of gender transition but was eliminated from the competition midway through. A video of her audition, where she expressed, “I came all the way to Buenos Aires with my suitcase to do the audition. I have seven siblings, two of whom went to prison. Thanks to them, I learned what’s wrong,” has since become viral online.
Both MartÃnez, who identifies as a public figure and dancer on her Instagram profile, and her manager remain detained and were scheduled for interrogation by the authorities.
