“Armed Police Respond to False Alarm at Asda Store”

Armed police responded to a call regarding individuals with a firearm at an Asda store in Taw Wharf, Barnstaple. The incident occurred around 11:30 am on Friday, March 13, prompting the deployment of armed officers by Devon and Cornwall Police. Three men were apprehended on-site with officers seen carrying firearms in the supermarket’s parking lot, as reported by Devon Live.

Although a thorough search of the area was conducted, no firearm was discovered, leading to the release of the detained individuals without further action. A spokesperson from Devon and Cornwall Police stated that the authorities were alerted to the presence of individuals with a gun at Taw Wharf, Barnstaple, and dispatched armed officers in response.

After an extensive search yielded no firearm, the three individuals were released without facing any additional consequences.
