“Antisemitic Arson Attack: Four Jewish Ambulances Set Ablaze”

Police have initiated an inquiry into an incident characterized as an ‘antisemitic arson attack.’ Four ambulances owned by the Jewish Community Ambulance service were intentionally set on fire in Golders Green, Northwest London. The event occurred on Highfield Road at approximately 1:40 am on Monday, March 23.

Metropolitan Police confirmed that four Hatzalah ambulances were targeted in what they classified as a hate crime. The blaze was extinguished by just after 3 am. Precautionary evacuations of nearby residences took place, and road closures are still in effect. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and all fires have been successfully extinguished.

Reports indicated that explosions were heard in the vicinity. The London Fire Brigade verified that multiple cylinders within the vehicles ignited, leading to shattered windows in a neighboring apartment complex.

Law enforcement authorities are conducting investigations and are actively seeking three suspects based on surveillance camera footage. Superintendent Sarah Jackson, overseeing policing in the area, stated, “We understand the significant concern this incident raises within the community, and officers are present to conduct urgent inquiries. We are examining CCTV footage and online videos and believe we are pursuing three suspects at this preliminary stage.”

She added, “No arrests have been made yet, and we encourage anyone with relevant information to come forward promptly – anonymity is an option. We will collaborate with religious leaders and increase patrols in the neighborhood as part of our ongoing inquiry to provide assurance and a visible presence.”

Individuals with information are urged to contact the police at 101, referencing CAD415 of March 23, or anonymously reach out to the independent charity Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
