Aldi has announced the return of its highly anticipated Easter promotion, focusing on affordable vegetables rather than the usual cheap chocolates and candies. The supermarket’s Super Six promotion, known for offering discounts on fresh produce, will feature significant price reductions to assist shoppers in preparing a budget-friendly Easter roast dinner.
In a recent statement, Aldi executives revealed their commitment to providing the “cheapest Easter veggies,” with selected items priced as low as 15p. The promotion is scheduled to run from Tuesday, March 31, until the day before Easter, concluding on Saturday, April 4, allowing customers a two-week wait followed by a five-day opportunity to shop at Aldi stores.
By collaborating with British growers and implementing fixed-cost pricing strategies, Aldi ensures fair compensation for farmers year-round. This approach enables Aldi to deliver substantial savings to customers while maintaining high standards of quality and fairness.
Aldi, in line with other leading supermarket chains, previously offered similar promotions before Christmas, reducing prices of festive items to as little as 5p to clear inventory before the holiday closure. These initiatives not only benefit consumers by saving money but also aid in reducing food waste, particularly with most stores closing on Easter Sunday.
In other Aldi news, the supermarket chain is embarking on a significant expansion plan, with intentions to open 40 new stores, creating around 1,100 new jobs. The company is investing over £370 million in opening new locations, providing employment opportunities ranging from store assistants to cleaners and store managers.
With over 1,080 stores nationwide, Aldi continues to expand its presence in the market, competing with major supermarket players like Asda, Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, and Lidl.
