Ruth Codd, known for her role in the TV series Celebrity Traitors, made her first public appearance on the red carpet since undergoing a second leg amputation. The 29-year-old actress from Ireland had her first leg amputated seven years ago due to an unresolved football injury, leading to severe joint damage from years of crutch use.
In late 2025, Ruth revealed on TikTok that her second leg had been amputated below the knee. She explained that she opted for the surgery after already losing all her toes. Recently, she attended a performance of the West End show Hadestown, looking elegant in a green mini dress alongside her mother and other celebrities.
In a December interview, Ruth shared that the decision for the second amputation was to enhance her quality of life, especially since her foot condition made it challenging to work. She described the deterioration of her foot joints over the years and the subsequent amputations that left her with no toes.
Discussing her recovery journey, Ruth mentioned the waiting period for her limb to heal before being fitted for a prosthetic. Despite facing obstacles, she expressed determination to continue her career with two prosthetics.
Ruth’s stint on Celebrity Traitors was brief as she exited the show early when the Traitors eliminated her for correctly identifying one of them as Jonathan Ross. The revelation about Ross being a Traitor came after Ruth’s departure from the program.
