“Trump Escapes Chaos at Correspondents’ Dinner”

Donald Trump delivered a scathing rebuke to the individual who caused chaos at the White House correspondents’ dinner, leading to the evacuation of the US President. The suspect, identified as Cole Tomas Allen, 31, was apprehended after creating a disturbance in front of a crowd of approximately 2,500 attendees, including Donald Trump, Melania Trump, and other high-ranking US officials. Despite the commotion, Trump was unharmed as the Secret Service swiftly removed him from the scene.

Surveillance footage from the Washington Hilton hotel lobby captured the suspect bypassing a security checkpoint near the ballroom. Although one officer was shot at close range, the bulletproof vest he wore saved his life, according to officials.

The incident transpired around 8:35 pm local time on Saturday night, with Trump later condemning the suspect during a press briefing. Referring to the gunman as a “lone wolf whack job,” Trump emphasized the need to prevent such occurrences. He expressed his disdain for the dangerous nature of his profession, citing previous threats, including an assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Trump underscored the importance of heightened security measures while affirming his commitment to safeguarding society. The suspect, hailing from Torrance, California, was found in possession of multiple weapons, including a shotgun, handgun, and knives. Despite having no criminal record, he is set to face charges, including firearm use during a violent crime.

Cole Tomas Allen, a part-time teacher and video game developer, was recognized as the “teacher of the month” by C2 Education in December 2024, as per his LinkedIn profile and social media posts. The suspect is expected to be formally charged in court on Monday for his involvement in the event.
