Three individuals were swiftly transported to a medical facility following an explosion that devastated three residential buildings in a prominent urban area.
Numerous residents were evacuated after the explosion obliterated Piana del Sole, a residential street in Rome, Italy, leading to the collapse of three structures.
The blast is believed to have been triggered by gas cylinders hidden in the backyard of a property. The proprietors of the residence were among those rushed to the nearby Sant’Eugenio Hospital.
A married couple, Michele De Bari, 84, and Chiara De Bari, 86, sustained severe burns amounting to 20% and are currently in critical condition. Additionally, a 24-year-old man was also hospitalized for evaluation after being rescued from the debris.
According to reports from Corriere della Sera, debris from the explosion was flung as far as 660 feet away. Images from the scene depict the demolished walls of the impacted homes and damaged vehicles that were parked in close proximity.
