Coronation Street Star Millie Gibson Undergoes Emergency Surgery

Former Coronation Street star Millie Gibson is set to undergo emergency surgery after being rushed to the hospital with severe stomach pain. The 21-year-old actress, known for her role as Kelly Neelan on the popular soap opera, shared her health scare on Instagram Stories, emphasizing the importance of paying attention to one’s body.

Millie recounted her experience of sudden stomach pain that led her to seek medical help at A&E, where she was diagnosed with appendicitis. Urgent surgery was arranged for the following morning to address the condition. She highlighted the significance of listening to one’s body, as she had no prior symptoms before the sudden onset of appendicitis.

According to NHS guidelines, appendicitis involves inflammation and infection of the appendix, typically causing pain in the lower right abdomen. Symptoms usually start with abdominal pain around the belly button, which then intensifies and shifts to the lower right side. Following the operation, Millie is expected to recover at home within 1-2 days, barring any complications.

Millie, who began her acting career on Coronation Street at the age of 14, has since appeared in various productions, including Doctor Who and The Forsytes. She expressed gratitude for her role in The Forsytes, describing it as a fulfilling experience that came at a crucial time in her career.

While facing rumors of being removed from Doctor Who due to alleged diva behavior, Millie clarified in an interview that she was actually cast for the next series. She refrained from addressing the rumors to avoid spoilers and protect the show’s storyline.

Despite the challenges, Millie’s resilience and dedication to her craft have earned her respect in the industry. Her recent health scare serves as a reminder for everyone to prioritize their well-being and listen to their bodies.
