Kidderminster Harriers Match Abandoned Due to Serious Injuries

Kidderminster Harriers’ match against Radcliffe in the National League North had to be abandoned on Saturday due to two serious injuries. Goalkeeper Christian Dibble and right-back Joe Foulkes, both from Kidderminster, were taken to the hospital by ambulance after sustaining head injuries during the English sixth-tier game at Stainton Park.

Dibble, a former Wrexham player featured in the Disney+ documentary Welcome To Wrexham, remained on the field receiving medical attention following a collision that led to a temporary suspension of play. Radcliffe expressed well-wishes for Dibble’s speedy recovery on social media.

The match was called off as a result of the injuries to Dibble and Foulkes. Both players were conscious when taken to the hospital. Kidderminster Harriers and Radcliffe praised the swift response of emergency services and the medical teams for their care.

The game was halted with the score tied at 1-1, with Owen Evans scoring for Kidderminster to level the match after Rio Clegg put Radcliffe in front. Following the abandonment, Kidderminster remains in third place in the National League North, trailing South Shields by 18 points.

Promotion to the National League only guarantees the title winners advancement, while the second promotion spot is determined through playoffs involving six qualifying teams. The playoffs culminate in a final held at the higher-placed finalist’s home ground.

Kidderminster was last in the National League in 2023-24 and finished third in the lower tier last season, reaching the playoff semi-finals. In contrast, Radcliffe won the Northern Premier League Premier Division title in 2024, marking their highest achievement to date.
