Celebrity chef James Martin has revealed his favorite two-ingredient breakfast after shedding 3st, calling it “easy and delicious.”
Known for hosting James Martin’s Saturday Morning on ITV, the 53-year-old recently visited Spain to collect regional recipes for his new cookbook ‘James Martin’s Spanish Adventure.’
Reports indicate that fish now makes up 80% of his diet, with butter still holding a special place in his heart.
Martin shared that the recipes in his books were carefully crafted using ingredients discovered during his travels. However, his ultimate go-to dish is a simple concoction that can be made at home with just two basic ingredients.
The chef’s top picks include grilled tomatoes on toast and barbecued leeks with lardons and hazelnuts.
During an interview on the Spooning with Mark Wogan podcast, Martin attributed his significant weight loss to his passion for motor racing, which made it challenging for him to maneuver in and out of cars.
Despite his weight loss journey, Martin’s love for butter remains steadfast, evident from his extensive book ‘Butter: Comforting, Delicious, Versatile – Over 130 Recipes Celebrating Butter,’ which humorously contrasts with the health-focused trends in the market.
Martin clarified that his weight loss was not a result of intense gym sessions but rather stemmed from his upbringing and preference for simple, high-quality food.
Expressing his distaste for the gym, Martin emphasized his inclination towards uncomplicated cooking that highlights the essence of ingredients above all else.
James Martin is set to return to television screens today with Saturday Morning on ITV1 at 9.25 am.
