“Iran Launches Missiles at US-UK Base Amid Rising Tensions”

Tensions escalated as a top Iranian official expressed concern that British lives were jeopardized by the decision of UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer to allow the United States to target Iranian missile sites in the Strait of Hormuz from UK bases. The UK government agreed to this move on March 20, expanding the previous agreement limited to using the bases for strikes against British interests only. Subsequently, Iran reportedly launched ballistic missiles at a joint US-UK military base.

The conflict in the Middle East intensified after joint strikes by the US and Israel on key Iranian sites, triggering retaliatory actions by Iran. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi emphasized Iran’s right to self-defense and criticized Starmer for endangering British lives by facilitating aggression against Iran.

In response, US President Trump criticized the delay in UK’s decision to grant permission for the use of its bases, emphasizing the historically strong relationship between the two countries. Trump highlighted the significance of guarding the Strait of Hormuz by other nations and expressed confidence in eradicating Iran’s threat, hinting at a potential reduction in military operations in the region.

Despite Iran’s missile launch towards Diego Garcia, no damage was reported at the base. The situation remains tense as geopolitical dynamics continue to unfold in the region.
