The Siddiqui family, known as one of the original stars on Gogglebox, has experienced a mix of events over the past year outside the show. The beloved family, consisting of Baasit and his brothers Umar and Raza, along with their father Sid, joined the Channel 4 series in 2013. Despite the absence of their mother Nasreen on the show, the Siddiqui family quickly became fan favorites in Derby.
In the last 12 months, the Siddiquis faced challenges, including the loss of their cherished cat Poppy in September 2025, which they shared on Instagram. They received an outpouring of sympathy from well-wishers. However, they also had reasons to celebrate, such as Baasit and his wife Mel marking their 13th wedding anniversary in October 2025.
More recently, in February 2026, the family revealed that Raza had been hospitalized due to a fall resulting in cracked ribs. They expressed optimism about his recovery and expected his return to the show soon. Additionally, the Siddiquis commemorated Sid’s 81st birthday with warm wishes and family photos on Instagram.
