Two teenagers have been detained on suspicion of attempted murder following a stabbing incident involving a 15-year-old victim on a peaceful residential street.
Authorities swiftly responded to a knife assault on Ingleton Road in the Ribbleton area of Preston on Tuesday evening. The injured teenager was promptly hospitalized with non-life-threatening wounds.
To address the situation, a Section 60 Order was imposed, granting police increased authority to conduct stop and search operations and remove face coverings in designated areas such as Grange, Brookfield, Homeslack, Fishwick, and Ribbleton. This measure was effective until 3 am on Thursday.
According to Lancashire Police, the stabbing occurred during a confrontation among several youths in the vicinity. Chief Superintendent Ian Jones highlighted a concerning trend of knife-related incidents involving young individuals in the area over recent weeks.
Law enforcement disclosed the arrest of a 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl on suspicion of attempted murder. Both suspects are currently in police custody for further interrogation.
