Ryanair provided an update following a disruption that led to fire crews surrounding flights at an airport yesterday. Firefighters were observed on the tarmac at Manchester Airport on Thursday evening after an incident involving Ryanair flight RK558 from Dublin to Manchester, which landed at Terminal 3 just after 6pm. The airport temporarily halted operations while emergency crews addressed the situation.
According to an eyewitness, no flights landed or departed for approximately 30 minutes. There were reports of smoke emanating from the aircraft as well. Ryanair, in a statement released this morning, mentioned that a “minor tech issue” affected the plane, which was subsequently inspected after passengers disembarked.
A Ryanair spokesperson stated, “Flight RK558 from Dublin to Manchester (March 19) encountered a minor tech issue upon landing. Passengers and crew disembarked without incident, and the aircraft was towed to undergo inspection by Ryanair engineers.”
A Manchester Airport representative confirmed an incident involving a Ryanair aircraft, mentioning that a loading issue resulted in a fluid leak. Fire engines were dispatched to ensure the safety of the plane before it was moved to a stand.
