Lindsey Vonn’s sister, Karin Kidlow, has suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament just six weeks after her older sibling encountered the same injury at this year’s Winter Olympics.
The renowned American Alpine ski racer injured her left ACL before the Games commenced and later fractured the same leg in a crash, leading to four surgeries to address the complex fracture. Karin was present in Cortina d’Ampezzo to support Vonn and remained with her during the hospital stay.
Both sisters have returned to the United States, where Vonn is now providing care and support to her injured sibling during their recovery.
Vonn took to Instagram to share Karin’s progress, posting a video of her sister using crutches with a braced knee, stating, “Karin joins the rehab program!” In the clip, Kidlow is tagged as “Patient #2 – torn ACL,” and Vonn humorously refers to their recovery process as the “Vonn rehab center.” Karin later shared a video of Vonn assisting with her knee cap movement exercises.
During the exercises, Kidlow experiences some discomfort when Vonn attempts a certain movement, eliciting a reaction. Vonn continues the exercise, explaining the process and causing Karin to laugh and stop recording.
In another post, Vonn updates her own recovery progress by sharing a video of her outdoors, riding a scooter while her dog, Chance, accompanies her. She expresses excitement about being outside after a month of recovery and names her scooter “Speedy.”
Vonn’s Instagram account also showcased a promotion from Virgin Media offering new customers up to £250 in bill credit upon switching to selected TV and broadband packages, which include various channels like Sky Sports, Netflix, and fiber broadband.
