“Bomb Squad Responds to Dublin Store for Suspicious Devices”

Bomb squad officers rushed to a store in Dublin earlier today following reports of two suspicious devices discovered inside a bag near the shop. The Defence Forces Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team retrieved two suspect devices from Ballyfermot Road this morning. GardaĆ­ called in bomb disposal experts around 10:10 am, who recovered the devices and additional equipment after an assessment.

The devices were taken away from the scene for further examination, and the road remains closed. The Defence Forces spokesperson confirmed that the area is now back under the control of An Garda SƭochƔna.

According to Dublin Live, the EOD team responded to a request from GardaĆ­ regarding the suspected devices in Ballyfermot, Co. Dublin. Following the assessment, two devices and accompanying equipment were identified, removed for analysis, and the scene was handed over to AGS, concluding the operation.

GardaĆ­ earlier informed the public of an ongoing incident on Ballyfermot Road in Dublin 10, with the road remaining shut. Citizens were urged to avoid the area, with updates to follow.

Cllr. DaithĆ­ Doolan, chair of the Local Community Safety Partnership, expressed deep concern over the discovery of the devices. He emphasized the need for vigilance, urging the community to report any suspicious activities to the GardaĆ­. Doolan called for increased resources and personnel for law enforcement to combat such serious crimes and encouraged anyone with information to cooperate with the authorities for justice to prevail.
