“Cathay Pacific Halts Dubai Flights Amid Middle East Tensions”

Another major airline has halted its flights to a key airport. Cathay Pacific has ceased operations to and from Dubai until the end of April. The decision follows a recent drone strike near Dubai International Airport, leading to flight disruptions and diversions affecting thousands of passengers.

Ongoing attacks in the region include the UAE intercepting ballistic missiles and fighter jets responding to drone threats. Explosions have targeted vital energy facilities in the Middle East, such as Qatar’s Ras Laffan, the world’s largest liquefied natural gas plant, and Iran’s South Pars gas field.

Cathay Pacific has cited the evolving situation in the Middle East as the reason for canceling all Dubai flights until April 30. Affected customers are advised to monitor their bookings through Manage Booking and take advantage of the airline’s ticket waiver policy for rebooking, rerouting, or refunds without extra charges.

Passengers traveling between Hong Kong and Dubai up to May 31 can make necessary changes with flexibility. Those who have booked through third parties should contact them directly for rebooking or refunds. For customers who booked directly through Cathay Pacific channels, assistance is available through the Customer Care team for flight rebooking and refund requests via Manage Booking.

British Airways also recently announced flight cancellations to multiple destinations, including Dubai, Amman, Bahrain, Doha, and Abu Dhabi, due to current circumstances. The safety and well-being of customers and staff remain the airlines’ top priority as they continue to monitor the situation closely.
