John Stapleton, a renowned television personality who worked for BBC and ITV, passed away at 79 after battling Parkinson’s disease. Probate documents have revealed that he left an estate valued at £5,536,228 to his son, Nick. Following deductions, the final amount inherited by his son was £4,544,801. Originally, John intended for his wife, TV presenter Lynn Faulds Wood, to inherit his estate, but with her passing in 2020, the wealth now goes to his son.

The respected presenter, known for his work on shows like Watchdog, GMTV, Good Morning Britain, and Sky News, succumbed to Parkinson’s disease and pneumonia in the hospital, as confirmed by his agent Jackie Gill. Having been in the industry for nearly 50 years, John disclosed his Parkinson’s diagnosis in 2024, expressing a positive outlook despite the challenges. He shared his struggles with speech due to the disease but remained optimistic about managing it with expert advice.
