A live possum surprised airport employees by appearing in an unusual location – nestled among plush toys in a busy gift shop. The furry intruder was found sitting on a shelf filled with stuffed native animals after a passenger noticed something out of the ordinary. Instead of a toy kangaroo, a real Australian brushtail possum was staring back. This peculiar incident occurred in the departure terminal shop at Hobart Airport in Tasmania.
Initially, the possum seemed to blend in perfectly with the stuffed animals until it made a move. Airport staff promptly intervened and safely removed the possum from the shop. Shoppers were both entertained and puzzled as the unexpected visitor calmly observed its surroundings.
As the intruder watched from its cozy spot, a stuffed kangaroo fell past. Fortunately, the possum emerged unharmed from its unconventional escapade.
