“Woman Allegedly Strangled by Husband in Rape Incident Testified Before Tragic Death”

A woman who reportedly took her own life allegedly confided in a former schoolmate about being strangled by her husband with a belt during a rape incident. Carina Silva testified in court that Tarryn Baird was distressed as she recounted the purported sexual assault by Christopher Trybus.

Trybus, aged 43, is accused of contributing to his wife’s death through a series of manipulative behaviors and sexual violence. Baird, aged 34, was found dead by hanging at their residence in Swindon, Wilts.

During her testimony, Silva revealed that Baird had disclosed to her about enduring physical abuse from Trybus, mentioning being struck 25 times in their tumultuous relationship, which left her feeling like an empty shell.

Silva and Baird had a long-standing friendship that originated from playing hockey together in South Africa. However, their bond was tragically severed when Baird took her life in November 2017.

Recalling Baird’s distressing experiences with Trybus, Silva painted a picture of a relationship filled with hostility and fear. Baird often shared with Silva about the alleged abuse she faced, including physical violence and profanity.

After a celebratory meeting at London’s Paddington train station, Baird confided in Silva about the rape incidents involving Trybus. She recounted how Baird described being raped and strangled by her husband, showing visible signs of pain and distress afterward.

Silva attempted to persuade Baird to leave with her that night, but Baird declined. Silva advised Baird to document the abuse in a diary for potential future reference.

Describing the profound impact of the abuse on Baird, Silva mentioned that her once vibrant friend had transformed into a hollow version of herself, devoid of the joy they once shared.

The court also learned about Baird’s struggles with PTSD following traumatic events in South Africa, including witnessing violent crimes. Despite her emotional turmoil, Baird appeared to regain a sense of normalcy before moving to the UK with Trybus and eventually marrying him in 2009.

Trybus, an IT consultant, faces charges of manslaughter, controlling and coercive behavior, and two counts of rape in connection with Baird’s death. He has denied all allegations, claiming that he loved his wife and that the injuries were a result of consensual “rough sex.”

Evidence presented in court revealed that Baird documented her injuries through photographs and had sent them to friends and family members. Her phone, which was reset before her death, contained crucial data backed up in the iCloud and analyzed by authorities posthumously.

The trial continues to unfold as more details emerge surrounding the tragic circumstances leading to Baird’s untimely death.
