Rocker Suzi Quatro, aged 75, recently passed her driving test and marked the occasion with Champagne and a frozen pizza. After residing in the UK since 1971 with a US license, she discovered she had been driving illegally for decades. Suzi expressed her joy at passing the test, mentioning that her husband was proud and shared the news with friends worldwide.
Living in Chelmsford, Essex, with her husband Rainer Haas, Suzi, known for selling over 55 million records, is gearing up for the release of her upcoming album, “Freedom.” She took her driving test in Clacton-on-Sea and celebrated with a glass of Moet & Chandon and a frozen pizza, relishing her newfound independence.
Initially part of the band The Pleasure Seekers, Suzi’s solo career was launched in the UK by producer Mickie Most in 1971. She revealed that she was unaware her American license was only valid for 12 months in the UK until recently, despite being insured and receiving speeding tickets over the years.
Having become a British citizen three weeks ago, Suzi is excited for her upcoming UK tour and is planning to get rid of her L plates, which she disliked having on her Mercedes. She jokingly recounted her examiner’s surprise upon realizing her identity and expressed her satisfaction with her accomplishments in 2026 so far.
Suzi’s new album, “Freedom,” is set to release on March 27, with her UK tour starting on April 7. For more information, visit www.suziquatro.com.
