The reality TV icon was entering the Vanity Fair Oscars event in a snug Gucci gown that restricted her movement, paired with pricey $80 gold heels that added height to her stature. In a TikTok video she shared, Kim could be seen falling into a hedge and grabbing onto a passerby for support, requiring assistance from her team members.
Despite hurting her ankle in the mishap, Kim apologized to the woman she had grabbed for stability. With the help of her friend Stephanie Shepherd and her team, she managed to stand back up and even attempted to walk on her injured ankle, expressing regret for involving the passerby in her fall.
Following the incident, Kim bravely continued onto the red carpet where she posed for photos, sporting blue contact lenses to complement her look. Fans praised her appearance, admiring her stunning outfit, although some were critical of the tight dress and sky-high heels she wore.
Accompanied by her mother Kris Jenner and sisters Kendall and Kylie, Kim joined the party, where her sister Kylie arrived in an elegant black dress with her boyfriend Timothee Chalamet, who was a nominee for Best Actor at the awards ceremony.
While Timothee was a frontrunner for the award, he ultimately lost to Michael B. Jordan for his role in “Sinners.” Michael’s win marked a significant moment as he became only the sixth Black actor to receive the accolade, acknowledging past winners like Sidney Poitier, Denzel Washington, Jamie Foxx, Forest Whitaker, and Will Smith in his acceptance speech.
“Sinners,” a film set in the Jim Crow-era southern United States about vampires, also made history with Autumn Durald Arakpaw becoming the first woman and woman of color to win the award for Best Cinematography.
