Three individuals are accused of sexually assaulting a woman on Brighton beach, with one of them filming the incident, according to the prosecution. Karin Al-Danasurt, 20, Ibrahim Alshafe, 25, and Abdulla Ahmadi, 26, allegedly targeted the woman after she became separated from her friends during a night out on October 4 last year. Al-Danasurt is alleged to have recorded the assaults and shared the footage with Ahmadi.
During the trial at Hove Crown Court, Prosecutor Hanna Llewellyn-Waters stated that the victim was intoxicated and incapacitated at the time of the assaults. The court heard that the defendants approached the victim while she was alone on the street and took her to a secluded area behind a beach shack, where she was assaulted multiple times.
Although the victim could not confirm if Al-Danasurt also assaulted her, the prosecution claims he was present and actively participated by filming the assaults. The court was informed that the defendants knew each other and resided at the Cisswood House Hotel in Horsham, West Sussex, an approved accommodation for asylum seekers.
Ahmadi and Alshafe have denied charges of raping the woman, while Al-Danasurt faces charges as a secondary party for encouraging the assaults through his actions, including filming them. The trial is ongoing.
