Family Mourns Tragic Loss of Mother, Seeks Justice

The sibling of a beloved mother whose tragic death led to a murder investigation has expressed heartfelt condolences, emphasizing her altruistic nature and aversion to causing harm.

Karlie Sone, aged 28, was pronounced deceased early last Tuesday after authorities discovered her unresponsive at a residence in Ipswich. Paul Stevenson, aged 39, has been arrested and charged with her murder.

Kris Sone, Karlie’s older brother, fondly remembered the mother of two, describing her as a compassionate individual whose children were her top priority. Kris, 32, shared with the BBC that Karlie was a dedicated mother who always exuded positivity and encouraged those around her to make positive choices and offer assistance when needed.

Describing Karlie as a music enthusiast with aspirations of working as a nursery practitioner, Kris, who served in the Army Cadet Force for nearly a decade, recounted the shock of learning about his sister’s untimely passing. He expressed the profound impact of receiving the unexpected news about his 28-year-old sister, highlighting the lingering uncertainty and unanswered questions surrounding the tragic event.

Following Karlie’s demise, a memorial service was held at Landseer Park in Ipswich, where floral tributes were laid and balloons were released in her honor. A fundraising initiative has been initiated to cover her funeral expenses and provide support for her children, garnering over £20,000 in contributions to date.

Acknowledging that no monetary sum can replace their loss, Kris emphasized the importance of aiding Karlie’s daughters as they navigate life without their mother. He stressed the significance of preserving Karlie’s memory and ensuring a bright future for her children.

Stevenson, who has not yet entered a plea, appeared at Ipswich Crown Court, with a seven-day trial scheduled for September 24. Additionally, a plea and trial preparation hearing is slated for May under the supervision of Judge Samantha Leigh.

Karlie’s family members also reflected on her loving and nurturing character, underscoring the irreplaceable void left by her passing. Jon Parker, the spouse of Karlie’s stepsister, spoke of the family’s collective support and the overwhelming sense of grief and disbelief they are experiencing.

Expressing the profound impact of the tragedy, Parker conveyed the family’s struggle to come to terms with the loss, emphasizing the individual coping mechanisms each member is employing during this difficult period.
