“Man Sentenced for Grooming 13-Year-Old Girl”

A man labelled as “dangerous” for deceiving a 13-year-old girl about his age in order to groom her has been sentenced to four years and eight months in prison. Oliver Vause, 30, residing in Riddlesden near Keighley, was found guilty of engaging in sexual conversations with the teenager, pressuring her to send explicit photos, and sharing obscene material involving bestiality.

The court determined that Vause, who violated a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, manipulated the young girl through persistent and sexually motivated demands, leaving her feeling coerced and intimidated. Evidence presented at Bradford Crown Court revealed that he sent explicit images and suggested meeting in person, fully aware of the victim’s age, dismissing any claim of innocent interaction as “role-play.”

The judge emphasized the deliberate and manipulative nature of Vause’s actions, which instilled fear and compliance in the minor. His conduct was deemed predatory, showcasing a clear pattern of grooming behavior targeting the vulnerable victim.

Described as “entrapment” by utilizing online platforms to exploit a child, Vause’s possession of extreme pornography raised concerns about his abnormal sexual tendencies and the potential danger he poses to society. Despite claims of denial regarding his attraction to children and assertions that his offenses were brief, the judge classified Vause as a significant risk, imposing a 15-year Sexual Harm Prevention order in addition to his prison term.
