A university student described as “hilarious” tragically passed away after suddenly collapsing at a Halloween rave following MDMA consumption. Olivia Wojciechowska, aged 19, was attending a K-Pop Demon Hunters-themed party when she experienced a seizure and was quickly taken to the hospital. Despite medical efforts, her condition worsened, leading to her transfer from Royal Liverpool Hospital to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, where she eventually passed away on November 7, 2025.
Friends of Olivia recalled her vibrant personality, with one mentioning her as the life of the party and actively engaged in social events. Another friend fondly shared memories of Olivia’s enthusiasm for dressing up and going out. Olivia, a second-year business student at Liverpool John Moores University, had joined the Halloween rave at Blackstone Street Warehouse in Vauxhall on November 1, 2024, where she was witnessed taking MDMA before collapsing later in the evening.
Efforts to stabilize Olivia at the event were made with the assistance of medical staff, but her condition continued to deteriorate, leading to her hospitalization and eventual passing. A post-mortem examination revealed that her cause of death was attributed to multi-organ failure, acute liver failure, and drug intoxication. Olivia, who was a registered organ donor, contributed her lungs and heart, saving the lives of two individuals.
Coroner Helen Rimmer confirmed the cause of death as drug-related, acknowledging Olivia’s organ donations that provided life-saving opportunities for others. Following her untimely death, Olivia was repatriated to Northern Ireland for her funeral service. Friends and associates continue to cherish Olivia’s memory, honoring her through various initiatives and charitable events.
