“Royal Drama: Prince Harry and Meghan’s ‘Faux’ Australia Tour”

King Charles has reportedly decided that Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, will be embarking on a “faux royal tour” to Australia in a few weeks. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex surprised the world in January 2020 by announcing their decision to step down as senior working royals to pursue a more financially independent life outside of the House of Windsor.

Although they initially planned to support Queen Elizabeth and represent the Commonwealth and realms, they ultimately agreed to completely step back from their royal duties with the Queen’s approval. Following their move to California, Meghan and Harry have faced criticism for what seems like unofficial royal tours aimed at maintaining a public profile for financial gain.

Royal expert Ingrid Seward suggested that King Charles has addressed his son and daughter-in-law’s actions, indicating that they have the freedom to pursue their interests as he focuses on more pressing matters. Recent events within the House of Windsor, such as Prince Andrew’s arrest on suspicion of misconduct in public office and subsequent loss of royal titles due to his association with Jeffrey Epstein, have added to the turmoil faced by the royal family.

In response to Andrew’s situation, Charles emphasized the importance of a fair investigation and expressed support for the legal process. Meanwhile, protests from anti-monarchy groups during Commonwealth Day activities highlighted ongoing public scrutiny faced by Charles and Queen Camilla at public engagements.
