A British couple was apprehended following an alleged attempted kidnapping incident on a bustling street in a holiday destination. The pair, described as middle-aged, purportedly tried to abduct a Spanish woman while she was walking in Palma, Majorca. According to reports, the British man, believed to be in his 40s or 45s, exited their vehicle on Maria Ana Bonafe street and approached the woman, attempting to coerce her into the car forcibly. The woman, said to be in her 60s, resisted, ultimately throwing herself to the ground and calling for help. Witnesses, including the woman’s husband, came to her aid and thwarted the alleged abduction.
The British couple was taken into custody near the location about an hour later. A spokesperson from the National Police in Majorca confirmed the arrests, stating that the couple, aged between 40 and 45, were being held in connection with the incident. Isabel recounted how her mother’s husband and others from a nearby shop rushed to assist her after she resisted the abduction by throwing herself to the ground. The man inside the car then emerged, retrieved his companion, and they fled before the authorities arrived. Isabel expressed shock at the incident, finding her mother surrounded by concerned onlookers with visible bruises, particularly on her neck.
