“K-Pop Makes History at Oscars Despite Speech Cut-off”

The Oscars, known as the pinnacle of many careers, witnessed a controversial moment as the first K-Pop song won an Academy Award. The hit track “Golden” from “KPop Demon Hunters” made history by winning the best original song category, marking a significant achievement for the K-Pop industry. However, the joy of the winners, including Ejae, Ido, and Teddy Park, was short-lived as their acceptance speech was abruptly cut off, leaving one of the winners, Mark Sonnenblick, visibly upset on stage.

Viewers at home also expressed outrage over the incident, criticizing the Academy for disrespecting the winners by prematurely ending their speech. The move was deemed unnecessary and compared unfavorably to allowing other winners more speaking time.

In other award highlights, Jessie Buckley secured the Best Actress award for her remarkable performance in “Hamnet.” During her acceptance speech, she expressed gratitude to her family and sent a heartfelt message back to Ireland. On the other hand, Michael B Jordan clinched the Best Actor award, marking his first Oscars win. Reflecting on his journey in the industry, Jordan expressed gratitude for the support he received throughout his career.
