“UK Set for Warmer Weather than Ibiza Next Week”

Next week, the UK is set to experience warmer weather than popular holiday destinations like Ibiza, with temperatures on the rise. According to the latest forecast from the Met Office, London could see temperatures reach 19C by 3pm on Wednesday. Southern and central England may experience temperatures around 18C, while Wales and northern regions could expect temperatures between 16C and 17C. Conversely, Northern Ireland and Scotland are likely to be slightly cooler.

On March 5, the hottest day of the year so far, London recorded a peak temperature of 19.2C. Weather models suggest that temperatures could surpass this mark on Wednesday. The UKV model predicts highs of 20C in south-east England, with temperatures of 19C and 18C expected in eastern regions, the Midlands, and the broader southern areas.

The GFS weather model indicates that temperatures will significantly exceed the seasonal average on Wednesday. Anomaly maps show areas in deep red across England and Wales, indicating much warmer conditions than usual for this time of year.

Comparatively, the Met Office forecasts a peak temperature of 16C in Ibiza and 15C in Zante on Wednesday. Looking ahead, the Met Office anticipates “frequent spells of pleasant spring sunshine” with the possibility of occasional colder interludes. The forecast for March 19 to 28 suggests settled conditions with fluctuating temperatures, occasional frost and fog overnight, and sunny days away from windy coastal regions.

BBC Weather forecasts more rain from the Atlantic on Monday, but high pressure over the near continent may keep most of it away from southern areas. By midweek, high pressure is expected to dominate, bringing mostly dry weather with some cold nights and warm sunshine during the day. Easterly breezes could make eastern coastal areas feel cooler at times.
