Man Arrested for Girlfriend’s Murder, Claims She Was British Spy

A man has been arrested for allegedly killing his girlfriend in St Petersburg, Russia, after accusing her of being a British spy. The suspect, identified as Timur Demidenko, 30, reportedly also engaged in violent behavior by decapitating a pigeon and later running naked on the street.

Concerned neighbors alerted the police after witnessing the disturbing events. Demidenko confessed to the authorities that he took the drastic action to “save” Russia from what he believed to be a British agent threat. Upon entering his disorganized apartment, law enforcement discovered the lifeless body of his 29-year-old partner in a pool of blood.

The victim, said to be of Russian descent, was found deceased in the apartment. The police reported that Demidenko admitted to the crime and expressed remorse for his actions. He is currently undergoing psychiatric evaluations while awaiting a full murder investigation and is being held in pre-trial detention.

This incident echoes a previous case in St Petersburg where a man, Yevgeny Andreyev, surrendered to the police after murdering his girlfriend, Daria ‘Dora’ Perevozchikova, 28, during an argument on New Year’s Eve. Andreyev confessed to the crime, stating that he attacked Perevozchikova with a mallet after she accused him of stealing her foreign currency. He proceeded to strangle her to death with a tie and lived with her body for weeks, deceiving her family and friends with messages sent from her phone.

Andreyev’s actions included leaving a window open to mask the smell of the decomposing body. Eventually, Perevozchikova’s father reported her missing, leading to Andreyev’s surrender to the authorities with the help of a lawyer friend.
