“Terminally Ill Man’s Final Wish: Return Home to Family”

A family is in a race against time to fulfill the final wish of a terminally ill man to return home and be laid to rest with his family. Clive Thompson, a former door-to-door salesman, aged 56, is currently receiving end-of-life care for lung cancer at a hospice in Dublin. He expressed his desire to reunite with his family in Greater Manchester after being away for 15 years. His family has initiated a fundraising campaign to arrange for a specialized ambulance to transport him back to the UK.

Clive’s niece, Cherelle Thompson, shared that her uncle had been diagnosed with lung cancer in 2024, had previously beaten it, but unfortunately, the cancer recurred aggressively. She described his deteriorating health condition and the family’s determination to bring him back to Manchester to be with his loved ones for his final days. The family has set up a GoFundMe page to raise funds for the high dependency ambulance and medical team needed for the journey, with a goal of £6,000.

Cherelle emphasized the importance of fulfilling Clive’s wish to be reunited with his family in Manchester and urged for support to reach the fundraising target. She highlighted the emotional toll of the illness on Clive but expressed his strong desire to spend his remaining time surrounded by familiar faces in his hometown. Those willing to contribute to Clive’s journey can do so by visiting the GoFundMe page provided.
