“Fired Fundraiser Admits Harassing Matt Lucas”

A man who stalked and bothered Matt Lucas as he attempted to exit a London Underground station has disclosed that he was fired from his job due to the incident.

British comedian Matt Lucas, best known for his role in Little Britain with David Walliams, was reportedly ‘harassed’ last month while leaving a tube station.

Thomas Bourne, 39, approached the 51-year-old Jewish comedian after seeing him on an escalator. Bourne recorded himself ‘harassing’ Lucas based on his Jewish background, which led to significant backlash when he shared the video online.

Reports have revealed that Bourne has been dismissed from his position as a fundraising consultant following the altercation. In an interview with PoliticsJoe, Bourne seemed to imply that Lucas instigated the confrontation.

Bourne explained, “I was on the escalator and noticed someone giving me an uncomfortable, even hostile look, and I realized it was Matt Lucas. My immediate reaction was to pull out my phone camera and shout ‘Free Palestine! Free Palestine!’ The video and subsequent coverage in the Daily Mail ultimately cost me my job.”

According to MailOnline, Bourne claimed he had no prior knowledge of Lucas’ background before the incident, stating, “I had absolutely no awareness of his background. I knew he was in a show many years ago, Little Britain.”

Upon learning that the video was gaining traction on Twitter and discovering Lucas’s Jewish heritage from a friend, Bourne expressed regret, realizing the potential negative consequences. He promptly deleted the video to prevent further repercussions.
