Luisa Zissman, a 38-year-old reality star known from The Apprentice, has refuted claims that she is receiving payment to promote Dubai. Like many other British celebrities, she opted for a new life in the United Arab Emirates city, leaving the United Kingdom behind.
Since relocating to the UAE, Zissman has joined numerous social media influencers in praising the country. Despite ongoing conflict in the Middle East, she once described the UAE as the “safest country in the world.” However, following recent attacks in Dubai, she has returned to the UK, mentioning that she had planned a work trip but continues to express her support for her new city.
In a video shared on Thursday, Zissman dismissed speculations that Dubai pays influencers for content, stating that her love for the city is genuine. Notably, criticizing the UAE government, spreading rumors, or tarnishing the country’s image can lead to severe penalties such as fines, imprisonment, and deportation.
After her return to London, Zissman took to social media to express concerns about crime and the weather. She referred to her current situation as her “refugee era,” explaining her departure from Dubai amidst the conflict.
Addressing her journey back from Dubai, she detailed the ease of leaving the city via Oman and shared her excitement about reuniting with her team in the UK. Additionally, she posted a meme featuring actor Cillian Murphy to convey her views on the panic among individuals stranded in the UAE due to the conflict.
As some Brits working in Dubai face decisions about their employment amidst the turmoil, British teachers, for instance, were granted a break during the war but are expected to resume duties upon the children’s return. The uncertainty of the situation has left some individuals conflicted about their next steps.
