Donald Trump has issued a stark new warning to Iran amidst escalating tensions in the Middle East.
The US President posted a fresh threat on his Truth Social platform, stating, “Keep an eye on what unfolds with these unstable individuals today.”
This message was shared on Friday, March 13, as conflicts persist with ongoing missile launches. Despite media accounts suggesting otherwise, Trump asserted that the United States is prevailing in the conflict and that engaging with Iran is a point of pride for him.
Trump emphasized the decimation of Iran’s Navy and Air Force, along with the destruction of their missiles and drones, claiming that their leaders have been eliminated. He highlighted the US’s superior firepower and ammunition, vowing consequences for Iran.
The President accused Iran of perpetrating violence globally for nearly five decades and expressed pride in taking action against them as the 47th President of the United States.
This statement came after Iran’s new leader’s declaration of continued resistance and a threat to open additional battlefronts. The ongoing conflict has already disrupted global energy resources, oil prices, and travel.
On the 13th day of the conflict, oil prices surged to $100 per barrel, causing worldwide stock market declines. The US Treasury Department announced a temporary relaxation of sanctions on Russian oil to facilitate the delivery and sale of certain Russian petroleum products.
Simultaneously, a US refuelling aircraft involved in operations against Iran crashed in western Iraq. The US Central Command confirmed rescue efforts were underway, involving a second aircraft, and clarified that the crash was unrelated to enemy or friendly fire incidents.
