The 54-year-old TV personality was informed that there are no further treatment options available after being diagnosed with colon cancer in 2023.
Recently departing from MAFS Australia, Mel shared with her followers that the cancer had spread to the left side of her brain, leading to symptoms like headaches and numbness. In a heartfelt message, she recounted her cancer journey, starting from the discovery of a lemon-sized tumor in her colon in December 2023 to the subsequent spread of the disease to her lungs in February 2024.
Despite undergoing extensive chemotherapy and being slated for a clinical trial tailored to her genetic profile, Mel was met with the grim reality that the cancer had reached her brain. Expressing her uncertainty about her remaining time, she emphasized her determination to continue fighting, supported by her family’s unwavering love.
Struggling with day-to-day tasks due to her deteriorating health, Mel acknowledged the outpouring of support she had received from well-wishers and encouraged others to seek medical attention if they suspect something is wrong.
