Declan Queally and Nico de Boinville have settled their disagreement following Queally’s claim that de Boinville made a racially insensitive remark towards him at the Cheltenham Festival. The incident occurred during the Turners Novices’ Hurdle race, where tensions arose as the riders jostled for position before the event eventually started. De Boinville finished second on Act Of Innocence, while Queally came in fifth on I’ll Sort That.
Queally expressed his displeasure with de Boinville’s behavior, stating that he was insulted by the British jockey’s actions. He later reported the incident to the BHA stewards. However, in a recent interview with ITV after The Close Brothers Mares’ Hurdle, Queally and de Boinville reconciled, with Queally stating that the situation had been resolved and wishing de Boinville well in the future. De Boinville also expressed his appreciation for Queally and thanked Davy Russell for helping to resolve the issue.
AP McCoy commended both parties for their handling of the situation. Further updates on this story will be provided by Mirror Sport as more information becomes available.
