Sharon Osbourne’s former colleague recently spoke out after their public disagreement on a talk show. Sheryl Underwood, who co-hosted The Talk with Sharon, had a falling out with the music manager in 2021 over Sharon’s defense of Piers Morgan’s statements regarding Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.
After their intense dispute, where Sharon defended Piers for his comments on Meghan’s revelations about the Royal Family, the relationship between the two soured. Five years later, following the passing of Sharon’s husband, Ozzy, Sheryl, 62, mentioned that she attempted to connect with Sharon, expressing lingering affection for her former co-worker.
During a recent appearance on The View, Sheryl conveyed her feelings, stating, “I still believe there’s some love between me and Sharon Osbourne. I tried to reach out when Ozzy passed.” She emphasized the bond they shared despite their differences and past conflicts.
Sheryl also addressed the questions around why she didn’t reach out earlier, explaining her reservations about leaving a voicemail due to potential misinterpretations in their industry. She emphasized the importance of avoiding further harm to others and expressed her respect for Sharon.
Their on-air confrontation involved Sheryl questioning Sharon’s support of Piers, highlighting the implications of his remarks on race. This led to a heated exchange where Sharon defended her stance, leading to her eventual departure from The Talk in 2021 as the show later ended in 2024.
In a subsequent statement on The Sage Steele Show in 2024, Sharon revealed her reluctance to apologize initially but eventually did so at the urging of her child. Despite the past conflicts, Sharon acknowledged the need for reconciliation and extended an apology to Sheryl.
