‘Wolf Pack’ Sentenced: 8 Men in UK Gang Rape Case

The group known as the ‘wolf pack’ that targeted a teenage British gang rape victim at a Magaluf hotel has been identified. Seven French men and one Swiss national have accepted prison sentences totaling over 73 years after reaching plea agreements with prosecutors just before their four-day trial was set to begin.

Prior to pleading guilty, the group faced potential sentences of over 150 years if found guilty as charged. The names of the eight accused have been disclosed today, along with the details of the assault on the 18-year-old British holidaymaker at the BH Mallorca Resort.

French tourists Khalil Abderrahmen Mejbri and Romain Charles Michel Galatioto sexually assaulted the victim, who was heavily intoxicated and rendered unconscious, according to the court. Frenchman Anthony Guy Gerard Wengler and Swiss national Lucas Haiaiel Ngandjeu Djamen Tchatchou also assaulted her, along with Thomas Eric Coretin Wisniewski from France.

Tchatchou and Wengler, along with Mejbri, spat at and whipped the victim, while Frenchman Satilmis Sahan slapped her. Anthony Auque and Mouhamadou Wade, both French nationals, witnessed the assault and chanted encouragement, while some members of the group laughed and hurled insults during the attack.

According to the plea agreement signed by all eight men, they recorded multiple videos on their mobile phones during the assault, with some sharing the content via the Snapchat app to humiliate the victim further. Mejbri and Wisniewski accepted a nine-year prison sentence for sexual assault, while Wengler, Tchatchou, and Galatioto received 11-year jail terms for the same offense. Sahan admitted to a lesser charge of sexual assault without penetration and was sentenced to four years in prison.

All eight men, including those who filmed the assault, were given additional prison sentences for violating the victim’s privacy by recording the incident on their phones. Three of the accused were granted bail before the trial and remain free pending further court proceedings.

The victim did not have to testify in court as her prior witness statement sufficed. The disturbing footage recorded by the perpetrators played a crucial role in their arrest and successful prosecution. The men, who did not all know each other before the incident, faced potential life sentences if they had not accepted plea deals.

Two suspects were extradited following a lengthy investigation, while the others were detained in Majorca. Most of the men were between 18 and 26 at the time of the assault and had no prior criminal records in Spain. The hotel security guard who found the victim provided prompt assistance, and medical examinations revealed injuries consistent with the assault. The convicted men have been ordered to compensate the victim with over €100,000.
