A group of men, referred to as a “wolf pack,” engaged in a disturbing rape attack on an 18-year-old British woman, shouting threats and laughing during the assault. The incident, which took place at a hotel in Magaluf, led to seven French men and one Swiss national receiving prison sentences totaling over 73 years after they admitted to their crimes before the trial began.
The victim, who was assaulted at the BH Mallorca Resort on August 14, 2023, was left traumatized by the ordeal. Five of the perpetrators were sentenced to either eleven or nine years in prison for their involvement in the rape, depending on the number of times they assaulted the young woman. Another individual received a four-year prison term for a different form of sexual assault.
The perpetrators, who filmed the attack and shared it on Snapchat, were identified as French and Swiss nationals. The court documents revealed that the men subjected the victim to degrading acts, including rape and physical abuse. The assault was carried out by different individuals, with some of them repeatedly assaulting the victim.
The men, part of a group that surrounded the victim and hurled obscene threats, were found guilty of violating the victim’s dignity and privacy. They were also accused of recording the assault to further humiliate the victim. Some of the perpetrators were sentenced to prison terms ranging from two years to eleven years for their varying degrees of involvement in the crime.
Despite some of the individuals being released on bail, others remain in custody awaiting further court proceedings. The arrests and successful prosecution of the offenders were largely attributed to the incriminating footage captured by the perpetrators themselves.
