An incident involving skateboarder Gabe Poirot, who was traveling at nearly 30mph when his skateboard hit an object on the road, proved to be a life-changing event. The impact caused Gabe, then 20 years old, to be thrown 6ft into the air and crash headfirst onto the pavement without wearing a helmet.
Witnessing the accident, Gabe’s friend John Michael described the scene as terrifying. He recalled finding Gabe unconscious on the ground and, along with others, praying fervently for his recovery. Despite his unconscious state, Gabe later shared that he was aware of the prayers being offered on his behalf.
Gabe, in a YouTube video, recounted a profound out-of-body experience he had during the ordeal. He described being enveloped in light and experiencing a divine encounter that differed drastically from his friends’ and family’s reality in the hospital.
Following the accident, Gabe was rushed to the hospital where doctors diagnosed him with severe head injuries, including subdural and extravasation hemorrhages, contusions, and traumatic brain injury. Despite the grim prognosis, Gabe’s condition began to deteriorate rapidly, leaving medical professionals concerned about his chances of survival and long-term recovery.
After spending 18 days in a coma, Gabe defied the odds and regained consciousness, stunning the medical staff with his remarkable recovery. Dr. Moore emphasized the miraculous nature of Gabe’s recovery, attributing it to divine intervention and emphasizing the rarity of such outcomes in cases like Gabe’s.
Gabe’s experience prompted him to reflect on the power of prayer and the importance of faith in his healing journey. He expressed gratitude for the support and prayers he received from his community and emphasized the profound impact of spiritual connections during his time of crisis.
Now, having emerged from this life-altering experience, Gabe has shared his story in a book titled “18 Days in Heaven: I Left My Body. I Met Jesus. What He Told Me Will Wreck You,” scheduled for release on April 7. The book details Gabe’s journey of recovery and spiritual awakening, offering readers a glimpse into his extraordinary encounter with the divine.
