Reality TV personality Lonan O’Herlihy from “Made in Chelsea” is facing a hefty £2 million court bill after his unsuccessful attempt to sue his late stepfather’s wife for excluding him from the will. Lonan, a 36-year-old personal trainer known as the Posh PT on the show, was left out of Hugh Taylor’s £38 million estate, which included valuable assets like a Second World War era Hawker Hurricane aircraft, classic cars, and properties.
Following Hugh’s death in 2019, Lonan, who considered Hugh a father figure during his childhood, claimed to have been left in a “homeless” situation as he was cut off from the inheritance that went to Jennifer Taylor. Lonan’s legal pursuit to claim £5 million from Jennifer was dismissed by the judge due to the delay in legal action and the lack of a strong case.
The court ruled that Lonan must cover the legal costs of over £2 million, which includes fees for Jennifer Taylor’s lawyers, the estate administrator, and Lonan’s own legal representation. Despite Lonan’s barrister arguing that Hugh had a parental responsibility towards him and had promised financial support for his real estate career, the court found that Lonan could sustain his lifestyle as a personal trainer without the need for additional financial aid.
Lonan expressed his disappointment with the court’s decision but emphasized that his intention was not driven by greed but rather a desire to secure what he believed was rightfully his from Hugh’s estate. He acknowledged the toll the legal battle had taken on him and expressed his intention to move forward positively.
