The Irish actor has been filming in Liverpool, the hometown of McCartney and his bandmates. Recently, Mescal was spotted in London filming a documentary with McCartney. The duo seemed jovial as they strolled through the city and visited the Regency Cafe in Westminster.
While specific details about the project remain scarce, Mescal has expressed his enthusiasm for being part of the biopic, praising McCartney as “extraordinary” and “kind.” Despite the cold weather, Mescal, 30, sported a laid-back style in a blue denim jacket and jeans, carrying a notepad. McCartney, 83, looked sharp in a navy jacket and jeans, complemented by stylish trainers.
The on-set pair was seen at a cafe in Westminster, which was closed to the public during their visit. They took a break from filming to engage in a conversation, with Mescal holding an umbrella over Sir Paul. In between scenes, Mescal was spotted smoking a cigarette, while McCartney appeared entertained by something the actor had said. Mescal’s role as Macca in the new Beatles biopic has generated significant interest and anticipation.
